Published: 09/07/2017

Council Bluffs, Iowa, September 07, 2017 – The owners of TS Contrarian Bancshares, Inc., a bank holding company within the TS Banking Group, announced a donation of $144,000 to complete first year startup costs for Assure Women’s Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Assure Women’s Center offers no cost clinic services and resources to women who are pregnant or think they might be.

The first Iowa office for Assure Women’s Center will be located at 320 McKenzie Ave., Suite 201, in Council Bluffs. The office plans to open October 2nd and will be open two days a week with plans to add a third day in the near future.

Support for Assure Women’s Center aligns with the core values and passion of the two families who are the primary shareholders of TS Contrarian Bancshares, Inc., the Gibson family and the Guttau family.

“Faith, family, farming and financial stewardship are what drive us as a company, so we take pride in partnering with organizations - like Assure Women’s Center - that have values that align with ours,” said Joshua Guttau, CEO of TS Banking Group.

Assure Women’s Center’s compassionate and caring staff helps women navigate through all their options and make informed decisions that are best for them. It is the goal of Assure to be the first step for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.

With 31 years of experience and offices located in North and West Omaha, Assure was a natural partner for concerned citizens of Council Bluffs who invited Assure to open an office to serve Southwest Iowa. The Council Bluffs location will be equipped with two ultrasound machines on site and staffed by paid medical professionals and office staff, as well as volunteers, serving in various capacities.

“We are so grateful to receive this incredible gift to help meet our first year’s startup costs,” said Chris Clausen, Assure board member.  “Celebrating this beginning is important, yet we know additional financial and community support will be needed in the months ahead to continue to move forward in serving the women of Southwest Iowa. This is an amazing start.”
