TS Ag Finance is proud to announce Barry Sturdivant as VP of TS Ag Finance.

Prior to joining TS Ag Finance, Sturdivant was Senior Vice President in the Food and Ag Division at Wells Fargo. Previous to that he was Senior Vice President for the Agribusiness Division at Bank of the West. At both places, Barry developed business on a nationwide basis. He built a portfolio of nearly $600 million consisting of loan commitments ranging from $500,000 to $130,000,000. In addition to providing constructive financing, Barry has always worked with management to ensure their long-term financial strength. He has done this by assisting in the budgeting process and by setting goals to meet key financial metrics.

As the VP of Ag Finance, Studivant will focus on real estate loan sales for Farmer Mac across the U.S. and will be based out of California.

Studivant joins a team of nine individuals led by David Buman, SVP of TS Ag Finance. Its two divisions focus on National Ag Real Estate Lending and Regional Ag Lending.

The National Agricultural Real Estate Lending Team offers financing opportunities for agricultural mortgage loan originators and partner banks throughout the United States. The financing options offer unique and flexible products for the agricultural producer and investor looking to expand their operation refinance into a more favorable loan product(s) or consolidate debt.

“The current focus on regulation and compliance in recent years by the larger agricultural lenders has made it difficult for them to assume the risk of rural agricultural real estate whose repayment derives from seasonal crops- which pretty much includes all of agriculture,” said Sturdivant. “Instead, they are focusing on more commercial real estate properties and operating loans. TS Bank understands and supports the family farm. I’m in the right place at the right time. Joining the team at TS Bank and TS Ag Finance provides a tremendously exciting opportunity that meshes perfectly with my values, interests and skill set,” said Sturdivant.

Buman, SVP of TS Ag Finance is equally thrilled in the newest addition to the team.

“Barry’s experience in agricultural lending and networking with large regional banks and farm credits will allow us to serve and grow our client base. He will be based out of Temecula, California and will travel the United States to serve our clients. We are very pleased to have Barry on our team,” said Buman.

Sturdivant and his wife Angela live in Temecula, California and have been married for 28 years. An avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, Sturdivant son, Parker, is a University of Kentucky graduate living in Los Angeles and daughter, Gwyneth, is a senior at the University of Hawaii.
